How to Measure Your Ring Size

Method 1: Measure an Existing Ring

  1. 1

Find a ring that fits the correct finger comfortably

  2. 2

Place the ring on a ruler and measure the inside diameter in millimeters

  3. 3

Use the chart below as a reference, then confirm before production

Method 2: Paper Strip Method

  1. 1

Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string

  2. 2

Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger

  3. 3

Mark where the strip overlaps, then measure the length in millimeters

  4. 4

Match the circumference to the chart below

Method 3: Visit a Local Jeweler

  1. 1

Ask a local jeweler to measure with professional ring gauges

  2. 2

Confirm any fee before the fitting

  3. 3

Ask them to measure the exact finger you'll wear the ring on

Sizing Tips

Fingers swell slightly in heat and shrink in cold — measure at room temperature

Measure at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest

If you fall between sizes, confirm the fit rather than automatically rounding in one direction

Wider bands can feel tighter — test a gauge close to the finished band width

Dominant hand fingers are often slightly larger — measure the correct hand
